Dave Conway

Dave had a sporting accident when he was 20, which left him legally blind and a paraplegic. Since leaving hospital he  worked  a number of  jobs, volunteered and set up a business for his art, but in everything he has faced Dave has  have decided to always give as much as he can. Dave will take us on the journey of how life can evolve beyond the limitations we face.

 

Dr Elissa Hatherly

Elissa has enjoyed 15 years practising and teaching Medicine in Mackay. With a background in General Practice, Elissa has established a thriving Women’s Health practice in the Mackay district working across both the private and public medical sector. Elissa is also an enthusiastic teacher and mentor for students and junior doctors across the Mackay district, and is also involved with community groups, participating in panel discussions and education.

Nikki Giles

nikki1A Mackay local Nikki completed her first triathlon in 2010, and from there her passion for fitness and endurance racing was born. Nikki loves being out in the elements being pushed to her physical limit. However, there is one thing that she loves more, and that is building a tri-be!! The story of getting a bunch of newbies to go from tryer to triathlete can be translated in many areas of our lives. Nikki will take us on the journey of discovering how adding FUN to the mix and building the right support can build a growing revolution.

Derek O’Connell

With 7 sisters and 1 brother, Derek O’Connell has lived most of his life in regional Australia.  With over 20 years in senior finance and management roles, 10 years in business coaching and consulting and 5 years leading a local Mackay business, Derek is firmly of the belief no one person is inherently any “better or worse” than anyone else and nor should they be prevented from enjoying all the benefits that life can provide.
